Lessons From Yesterday is a cozy place to learn about good books, homemade food, fun projects for kids, crafts and DIY projects. In the mass produced world we live in, things that are handmade, vintage, unique or interesting should be celebrated.
I’m not a gourmet chef–I used to be a disaster in the kitchen, but I’m learning how to cook from scratch, and sharing what I learn. I usually fix easy recipes with fresh ingredients, but I also like to make fun things like jelly from wild violets or dandelions, or spoons made from candy.
I’m Ana–I love old houses, reading a great book on a rainy afternoon, looking for treasures in a flea market, and I have a major sweet tooth. I’m the only girl living in a house full of boys. My boys have been to symphonies, musicals, monster truck rallies and baseball games. We watch caterpillars turn into butterflies, and we make pine needle tea over campfires. Personalities fascinate me, and studying them has made our family function so much better. I’m an INFJ, and Enneagram 4, by the way.
My two favorite quotes are:
“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” –Theodore Roosevelt
“Isn’t it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive–it’s such an interesting world.” –Anne of Green Gables
It is an interesting world, and I hope to always keep learning, and doing the best with the knowledge that I have. I’m glad you’re here–grab a cup of hot tea, and look around. I hope you’ll discover something you find interesting.
